Description
Suggestion for the light/intersection of Berger and Snowden. Would the county consider making an adjustment here so that the left turn lane on Berger is left/straight/right and the right turn lane is right only? Probably need to also add no turn on red for both of them. Most traffic turns right onto Snowden and I think this would improve the backup on Berger a lot without impacting the left/straight vehicles. the no turn on red should be ok since the wait would be significantly less anyway and being honest that should already be no turn on red :) thanks for any consideration.

We are in the midst of a signal retiming project for Snowden River, which included getting updated vehicle counts from each intersection, so I'll take a closer look at the counts for Berger when we adjust its timing.
Longer term, the upcoming Snowden River widening project (capital project J4222) will give us an opportunity to look at other solutions, such as a change in the lane assignments, a right turn arrow, or otherwise. (More information about this project is available at our Transportation & Special Projects page at https://www.howardcountymd.gov/Departments/Public-Works/Bureau-Of-Engineering/Transportation-and-Special-Projects/Current-T-SP-Design-Project-Information.)
Why do you think that Berger should be signed for No Turn on Red...do you think there is a sight distance issue?
